this was a very could be potentially nice oak stair but with this old fashion style it is hard to imagine what a big difference it will be. it was a wide stair case right at the entrance of the home they decided to have their stairs be completley wood ,they loved natural wood colour that was their first decision and then we did the side of stairs(stringer) and capped them with one inch solid oak custom made tread.at the top of the side we used 4inch oak trim to cover the wall so they can save money because they do not need paint the wall .the nosing on the edge of upper hall was done too in order to install hard wood flooring there. everything from old railing was thrown away and new oak spindle and post with 2 3/4 oak handrail was installed. that was a big difference. she was surprised after job was finished
